Broadcast engineer turned cloud engineer. Currently building reliability into Microsoft Teams. Passionate about distributed systems, video technology, and things that break in interesting ways.
I'm an engineer at Microsoft Teams, focused on service reliability, infrastructure, and the kinds of problems that only show up at scale. Before Microsoft, I spent years in broadcast engineering — building and maintaining the systems that keep live television on air, where downtime isn't an option.
That broadcast background gave me an obsession with uptime and a deep appreciation for well-designed systems. These days I channel that into cloud infrastructure: Azure, Kubernetes, Linux, video encoding pipelines, and CDNs. The problems are different, but the stakes feel the same.
Outside of work, I'm into Destiny 2, pugs, pygmy goats, reading, playing music, and wrenching on old vehicles. I own a 1979 MGB and a 1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ — both excellent sources of character-building.
